Current Position Deputy Warden: Arkansas Department of Correction 100 Walco Lane Malvern, Arkansas
The Ouachita River Correction Unit is a 1000 bed medium security prison. As the Deputy Warden of Operation, I am responsible for the following areas. Religious Services for a diverse religious culture, Accreditation, Mental Health, Medical Services, Training/Education, Food Services. Past Supervisory Experience 1989-2002 Arkansas Department of Correction Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Training Director, As the Director of Training for the Arkansas Department of Correction, I coordinated and supervised the training for over 4,000 employees. I led the Academy through two successful ACA Accreditation. I also coordinated all of the Arkansas DOC training for the National Academy in Boulder, Colorado, as well as manage the general training academy operations. I was also on the State of Arkansas Inter Agency Training Council as Chairman I coordinated the training for over 35,000 government employees.
American Association of Training Personnel Regional Director –
Part-time, As the Director of Region 5, which consists of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, I coordinated all activities of police, correction and jail trainer members. I held quarterly meetings with each State Coordinator and disseminated all information from the National Office. I prepared quarterly reports, recruited new members, and submitted articles for publication in the national journal. (America Correction Assoc. Agency)
1986 - 1989 City of Brinkley: Brinkley Police Department:
Position: Chief of Police, I was the Chief of Police of a very progressive law enforcement agency, accomplishments included implementing several new programs and procedures to include: Training Division, Emergency Management Team, Crime Prevention Division, Police Explorer Post, and a new Policy and Procedure Manual. The Emergency Management Team was initiated to handle chemical spills and evacuation since Interstate 40 runs through the City of Brinkley.
1983 - 1986 Arkansas State Law Enforcement Training Academy, East Camden, Arkansas
Position: Training Instructor and Supervisor As Class Coordinator (Supervisor), I supervised and instructed 25 different law enforcement topics, Civil Liabilities, Use of Force, Supervision, Jail and Correction, etc. in addition to coordinating class schedules. Appointed twice annually to become Class Coordinator (Captain) of 50 or more police cadets. Under my supervision were one class leader (Lieutenant) and four squad leaders (Sergeants) in addition to 50 cadets. Accomplishment: In 1985 received a letter of Commendation for the best-coordinated class that the Deputy Director had ever observed.
1981 - 1983 Ohio Peace Officer Academy, Position:
Director. In 1981, I assumed the instructional command of the Ohio Peace Officer Council for Private Police. The classes were held a D. Russell Lee Vocational School. Ten other instructors teaching in the academy were under my direction. I was also Director of the new Advanced Academy held once a year with 100 hours of advanced training in leadership and supervision. The academy was certified through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Counsel and the State of Ohio Department of Education. I was also, at that time, Chief of Police for the Hanover Township Police Department, where I had been employed since 1978.
1977 - 1983 Hanover Township Position Police Chief.
As Police Chief, I was responsible for implementing a new and more efficient filing system and in-service training program in order to upgrade the educational and professionalism of all police officers. I also initiated the Community Neighborhood Watch Programs and Youth Programs to help curtail Juvenile Delinquency. In conjunction with the police chief duties I acted as a Butler County Sheriff's Deputy.

Vice-President: Arkansas Chief of Police Association Supervise membership of 200 Police Chiefs President: Arkansas Police Olympics, Inc. Supervise 300 members.
